The LDO MCP1754 requires only 56 µA quiescent current with a maximum voltage drop of 300 mV and a maximum continuous current of 150 mA. It offers over 70 dB hum and noise suppression. It can be used in battery-powered power supplies that rely on minimal standby consumption (4 to 6 alkaline cells or 1 to 3 lithium cells) as well as in heavily disturbed vehicle electrical systems, in mobile telephones, in medical technology and in safety devices such as residual current circuit breakers or smoke and gas detectors and wherever a high-purity power supply is required.
