DC capacitors with integrated fuse
E63
Long life, safe failure mode. The E63s are pure DC capacitors with high capacitance density and autonomous breakaway protection (BAM). The special type of film and coating used enables the high current-carrying capacity of the E63 capacitors, which makes them particularly interesting for applications with high RMS currents. The E63s are also particularly attractive for applications with high superimposed AC voltages, e.g. as smoothing or backup capacitors in intermediate circuits and in sensitive environments with high safety requirements.

The capacitors filled with ecologically harmless vegetable oil have a very favorable capacitance-to-volume ratio and are also exceptionally overvoltage-resistant.
The excellent self-healing capability of our film metallization and an overpressure mechanism (" BAM ") integrated into the capacitors ensure reliable protection in the event of overload or a controlled failure at the end of the service life.
The built-in overpressure protection results in a relatively high self-inductance and reduced surge current carrying capacity of the capacitor.
Electronicon offers film capacitors "Made in Germany". From the coating of the film to the winding and manufacturing of the capacitors, the entire process takes place at the plant in Gera. Film capacitors offer various advantages in power electronics and are environmentally friendly in production.
