Whether for controlling a robot, monitoring a machine in industry, professional devices such as coffee machines or in medicine: displays and touchscreens are used everywhere. Different technologies are preferred depending on the area of application:

TFT displays with and without touchscreen
OLED in passive matrix technology for small handheld devices
ePaper displays for mainly static displays and with a low available energy source
Transflective displays that glow in the dark and use ambient light in bright conditions.

Almost all technologies can be adapted to their specific area of application through refinement. The optical bonding process can be used for improved readability, a hardened cover glass for use in harsh environments or in the event of vandalism, or a particularly bright backlight for outdoor use.
