The Power-over-Ethernet transformers are characterized by a versatile design that supports multiple output variants and thus enables flexible integration into various applications. They are based on a flyback topology with a switching frequency of 250 kHz, which enables a compact design and efficient operation. The input range is between 29.5 V and 60 V and thus reliably covers typical PoE voltage ranges. An insulation of 1500 V AC between the primary and secondary side ensures a high level of safety and galvanic isolation. The transformers are available in three power levels - 4 W, 7 W and 13 W - and therefore offer a graduated selection depending on the power requirement. A feedback winding supplies 11.0 V at 0.10 A for regulation or control. The use of ferrite core material and a particularly low leakage inductance ensure high efficiency and low electromagnetic interference.

In 2012, the energy management provider Eaton acquired Cooper Industries, a company founded in 1833. The brand names of the established Cooper products Coiltronics, Powerstor, Cooper-Bussmann and Polysurg will be retained.
Eaton Elektronics Division products include the Coiltronics (SMD inductors), Powerstor (supercapacitors), Cooper Bussmann (fuses) and Polysurg (ESD protection elements) brands.
