The Vortex86MX+ is an x86-compatible System-on-Chip (SoC) manufactured and developed in a 90nm process with a power consumption of less than 1 Watt. It integrates several different functions such as multiple I/O ports like RS-232, parallel, USB and GPIO, BIOS, watch dog timer, power management, LAN, and a graphics controller in a single BGA chip.
In its 720-pin BGA package, the Vortex86MX+ packs 32kb L1 cache, 4-way 256KB L2 cache, PCI rev. 2.1 32-bit/33MHz, DDR2 RAM controller, IPC (Internal Peripheral Controller with DMA and interrupt timer/counter included), Fast Ethernet MAC, UART with FIFOm USB 2.0 host and IDE controller. With support for DOS, Windows, Linux and various real-time operating systems, it offers the ideal solution for embedded systems and communication products such as thin clients, NAT routers, home gateways, access points and tablet PCs.
DMP Electronics Inc., a member of the DM&P Group, was founded in 1989 and develops industrial control systems. Since the beginning DMP focused on the development of x86-based computer-on-a-chip products. The high level of integration, coupled with low power loss makes the single-chip x86 computers an ideal solution for industrial, control, medical and automation applications.
Eval Board Vortex86MX+
The evaluation board is an SBC (Single Board Computer) that is perfectly matched to the SoC (System-on-a-Chip). This evaluation board is ideal for developers, as time-consuming troubleshooting and configuration of SBC and SoC is no longer necessary. The performance of the processor with the I/O interfaces can be tested very easily. Furthermore, as a reference design, it provides an ideal template for your development. The core of the board contains SoC, GPU and DDR2. The I/O interfaces LAN, USB, RS232, GPIO, PS/2, Printer, IDE WDT and PCI are also integrated.
