The Vortex86DX2 is an x86-compatible System-on-Chip (SoC) manufactured in a 90nm process and designed for extremely low power consumption. It integrates various functions such as multiple I/O ports (RS-232, parallel, USB and GPIO), BIOS, watch dog timer, power management, LAN, a graphics controller and motion control in a single BGA chip.
In its 720-pin BGA package, the Vortex86DX2 packs 32kb L1 cache, 256KB L2 cache, 2.5GHz PCIe bus, DDR3 RAM controller, ISA, I2C, SPI, IPC (Internal Peripheral Controller with DMA and interrupt timer/counter included) Fast Ethernet, UART with FIFO, USB 2. 0 host and IDE/SATA controller to provide an optimal solution for embedded systems and communication products such as thin clients, NAT routers, home gateways, access points and tablet PCs.
DMP Electronics Inc., a member of the DM&P Group, was founded in 1989 and develops industrial control systems. Since the beginning DMP focused on the development of x86-based computer-on-a-chip products. The high level of integration, coupled with low power loss makes the single-chip x86 computers an ideal solution for industrial, control, medical and automation applications.
Eval Board Vortex86DX2
VDX2-6690A is the official evaluation board for the VortexDX2 CPU. The board provides an easy way to evaluate the Vortex86DX2 and most of its build-in I/O functions. Users can change the CPU speed by adjusting the jumper settings to get the desired performance and power consumption of the applications.
