Current Sense Transformers

For cost-critical applications

SIRIO's current sense transformers are based on a patented coil former in which an e-ferrite core is inserted. The primary winding consists of a single turn. The number of secondary windings depends on the operating frequency and the core material. A voltage is generated at the secondary winding which is proportional to the input current. The typical application is overcurrent protection on the primary side of transformers in switching power supplies, where a fast response is required to protect the semiconductor. These easy-to-install converters are particularly suitable for cost-critical applications.
